With the exception of total thyroxine (T4; p = 0.373), thyroid uptake (TU; p = 0.748) and serum protein-bound iodine (PBI; p = 0.594), all variables had an abnormal distribution (p < 0.050). Kolmogorov Smirnov test was used to establishing the distribution of variables. Mann-Whitney U test and Wilcoxon test were used to analyze non-parametric values. Student t test and paired t tests were used for parametric variables.
