  2. * For cases in which the calibrated blood collection drape was used and there were data for blood loss. Wilcoxon rank-sum test used to compare distributions by study phase. Data are for 784 cases.
  3. Data on emergency hysterectomy are only for women with primary or secondary diagnosis of uterine atony (n = 573).
  4. ** Includes renal failure, acute respiratory distress syndrome, heart failure, cerebral impairment (seizures, unconsciousness, motor/cognitive loss) lasting more than 24 hours after resuscitation from shock. Denominator is the number of women who survived (n = 807).
